🎁 BRAND NEW presets here, Support a Bruh-tographer - www.danielbryn.com/shop/lightroom-presets
💬 Hello Bro-Tographers, Japan for street photography is much more than Tokyo (D`uh). Osaka is a new favourite! What city would you rather explore with your camera?

👀 - Current fav lens (33mm f1.4): amzn.to/3UBejw8
Unfortunately I didnt get to do the night street photo session in this video, but the next day was amazing. If youd like a video about night street photography with examples from Osaka (and other places) let me know down in the comments.
Starting to get my head wrapped around street photography again. After those 6 months in Africa it took some time to get into it again. I see interestingness faster and faster, which makes it all the more fun to do. Street photography is like a mini adventure when you come to the point where vending machines and streetlights all of a sudden becomes objects of interestingness lol.
Ok guys! Thats about it. Got a few more street photo adventures in the bag for ya, filmed and all that! So stick around the channel, like, ring the bell to get updates, and ill see you soon.

    It's all subjective ofc, but if you're paying a very similar price for the X-T5 and the X-100VI, then the X-T5 is much the best choice for a a professional and well-rounded photography stance, for all the points you mention. You have a massive advantage with interchangeable lenses, which means you can build up a solid range of focal lengths, with both primes and zooms, that will cover all bases and shooting scenarios. That also gives you the option somewhere down the line, to sell these lenses if you wish, to help buy new ones, perhaps a new focal length, or a faster prime for night-time/low light street-photography etc, or trade in when newer / better lenses are released, effectively future-proofing your photography set-up, to a certain extent...That's not to say the X-100VI is a bad camera, but I feel there's a ton of hype that's driven this, right from the X-T100V. I'm sure it's a great little travel/street camera, but if I could only afford one, I'd definitely go with the interchangeable lenses of the X-T5. I shoot with a Fuji X-T30ii, with either the 18-55, or the 23mm f/1.4. I absolutely love this set up, it's small/compact and light for a days street-shooting and does all I want it to do. Eventually I will add in the X-T5, mainly because of weather sealing and the 40 MP, especially useful for the greater crop potential. I've been watching one or two of your videos lately and enjoying them, they're pretty cool, so I subscribed and looking forward to more street-related content!

    Loved this! Your images are stunning, Dan! I’ve been thinking about getting this lens, but the slow aperture has kept me away so far. Did you think it was a limitation in your test? Your skills are pro level, and I think you’d make mind-blowing images with any lens and camera setup. I’m an amateur/enthusiast and I find it really useful to have a lot of light through the lens as I learn wildlife photography. Would you recommend this lens to newbies like me? Just subbed to your channel. Great content!

    • @DanielBryn
      @DanielBryn 8 днів тому

      Thanks a bunch - ya, it is on the slower side, hence the more affordable price as well though. At dusk and dawn it has its limitations, but on that note, lightrooms AI denoise feature is amazing, and I can shoot fast shutterspeeds at ISO 6400 and get the images I want. Its all about being where the action is and practice a lot, and youll get cool images with any setup. It is however an impressing lens at 600mm which is about 900mm fullframe equivalent, so you get really close.

      @@thomasd6592 Personally I delete the photos and wish the person a good day, if they ask nicely. This happens rarely though. On that note, I am not a very intrusive photographer. I wouldnt worry about it. In my country, if youre in a public place, its within your right to take photos. A lady in her 50s or 60s blatantly demanded me to delete all photos on my camera in a public park once. I told that person to mind her own business, and stop bothering others. She threatened to call the police, where I responded id happily give her my phone number in case I wandered off before they arrived. I love it when a 'reviewer' says this lens works well hand-held because it's light, but it feels 'plasticky' & feels like it would break easily; when the only part of this lens that feels 'plasticky' is the len hood, which most of us consider to be a consumable to be replaced after being bashed & scraped on rocks, barnacles etc for a couple of years... Your perspective regarding the exploration of Osaka is truly fascinating! It's refreshing to see your emphasis on seeking out distinctiveness in the narrow pathways and adjacent streets rather than the conventional locations. Please continue to share your endeavors in street photography; they serve as a wellspring of inspiration!

      Thats about the nicest comment ive had, and thanks! Yes - youll find unique locations even in the classsic locations, but over time, they become very recognisable, so, straying off the beaten path is a good idea if you find yourself outside any inspiration. Ill continue, and many thanks again.

    $2500 fuji set up vs $6000 leica set up. Its pretty obvious that fuji gets your there 98% of the way.

    • @DanielBryn
      @DanielBryn 3 місяці тому

      Lets say you pay 3500 for the red Leica logo - then the rest is pretty similar. Apart from interchangeable lenses on the fuji. Best case for Leica, id call it a draw. But lets be honest... Fuji, or any other camera in that price range will get you there 100% of the way if you know how to handle a camera. Its back on the fuji. Cool to check out the leica for a while though

    Great review. I wish the AF was better for tracking birds but that is mostly the actual camera's fault. Have you used it after the latest firmware update? I really want to get this lens for my X-T5 but I am really doubting Fuji as good for bird photography.

    • @DanielBryn
      @DanielBryn 3 місяці тому

      Ill be honest and say your doubts may be right. But its still a great lens for the price, so what you have to consider is; are you willing to pay all that much more just to get the incrementally better af on lets say a Sony? Or maybe it is a bit better than incremental, but still. I havent tested with the new firmware unfortunately, but ive read its a good upgrade, and when the nail it, I think id stick with fuji and practice with what I have. Thanks for watching by the way. Hope this gave you some perspective to consider.

      @@DanielBryn I actually had Sony gear (a6000 and a5000) and sold those before purchasing my X-T5. I also bought an X-T2 at the end of last month as a second body. I am not planning to going back to Sony but I am considering getting a dedicated bird photography camera and lens be it modern Canon, Nikon or perhaps OM because I have experienced how AF can miss on Fuji sometimes particularly on wildlife. I love Fujifilm and I will still stick with the system for other type of photography because I love their dials experience and lenses are great. I am highly inclined in getting this lens, problem is in my country I can't rent gear and Fujifilm is not very popular so if I buy it and doesn't convince me it will be hard to sell. I might instead wait to see how comes that rumored XF 500mm f/5.6 at the end of the year and save for it.

    • @peterjackhandy
      @peterjackhandy Місяць тому

      I very recently 'upgraded' from x-t5 to x-h2s for wildlife with this lens: If you're shooting jumpy birds, insects etc then the h2s shoots 40fps & pre-shot & a fast cfexpress card clears the buffer super quick, whereas the x-t5 is rather sluggish in comparison... But I'm not parting with my x-t5 - It's now my high-res concert, events, landscape & portrait body.

    I have a brand new 150/600.. I used it once. Great lens.. but for my usual day to day and mostly sports photography, it’s too heavy for me. One of the many reasons I stopped cannon after 35 years was because the cameras and the lenses were so heavy to schlep around. That’s why I went to Fuji. I use the 70 to 300 mostly for my longer reaches. I would love to sell this lens if your local here in Southern California, send me a message. I’m offering an amazing price.

    if youre not a pro photographer then i think the x100vi is way better also its a bit cheater and looks cooler and you dont need different lens, you could make 23mm work and if its really a problem then yes you could use the convertor thingy. i think the x100vi would save a lot of people $ in the long run too because they dont need 50 different lens or w/e

    • @DanielBryn
